MEMBERSHIP OVERVIEW

The ACISC™ membership community is a highly collaborative global network of higher education institutions, and primary and secondary international schools, committed to promoting internationalism and interculturalism in education. Members of ACISC™ are characterized by a pursuit of high standards in leadership and global citizenship.

This membership community consists of over 740 schools and over 610 universities. Their profiles are available on our membership directory.

As a member of ACISC™, you get access to:

To be considered for ACISC™ membership, institutions must:
  • provide evidence that supports an institution's commitment to international education, global citizenship, and delivering programmes and services to international students
  • have the power to award their own degrees
  • hold university-level accreditation by a US regional accrediting organization, or hold official university-level recognition by the ministry of education in the country where the institution is located
  • agree to support and uphold the ACISC™ Code of Ethics and the Guiding Principles for Higher Education
  • pay the annual membership fee noted on the application form
International university branch campuses which meet the following criteria may opt to have a separate ACISC™ membership from their main campus:
  • Have their own distinct admissions/administrative offices rather than having admission and administrative decisions centralized through offices at the main campus
  • Are located in a different country than the main campus
  • Offer degrees which can be completed from start to finish at the branch campus location
  • provide evidence that supports an institution's commitment to international education, global citizenship, and delivering programmes and services to international students
  • hold university-level accreditation by a US regional accrediting organization, or hold official university-level recognition by the ministry of education in the country where the institution is located
  • agree to support and uphold the ACISC™  Code of Ethics and the Guiding Principles for Higher Education
  • pay the annual membership fee noted on the application form

Importance of Accreditation

One of the first steps any prospective student should take before enrolling in a college or university, is to verify whether or not the school is accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. ACISC™ is a national accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education.
