Through our work with hundreds of schools and universities around the world, ACISC™ has developed the following understanding of global citizenship.
ACISC™ is a membership community working collaboratively to shape international education through professional services to schools, higher education institutions, and individuals. The ACISC™ vision is to inspire the development of global citizens through high quality international education: connecting ideas, cultures, and educators from every corner of the world.
We draw on our collective knowledge and experience to guide others. Together we achieve more. We inspire each other to expand our minds and perspectives, always striving to explore new ideas and innovations that enable us to act progressively and meaningfully.
Accreditation is a status granted to an institution that meets or exceeds the stated criteria of an accreditor recognized by the Department of Education (USDE). The purposes of accreditation are to assess and enhance the educational quality of an institution, to assure consistency in institutional operations, to promote institutional improvement, and to provide for public accountability.

ACISC™ does not hold any student records. Please contact your school directly. If a school is closed, you will need to contact the higher education agency of in the state where the operated for assistance. If you are unable to find the state information.
ACISC™ has established criteria for reviewing and resolving complaints. Complaints will be accepted by the Council from individuals or groups, including students, staff, faculty, members of the general public, governmental agencies, and other institutions or organizations. The Council reviews complaints and acknowledges its responsibility to provide both the complainant and the institution with a reasonable and impartial review.
The ACISC™ team includes educational leaders and organizational management professionals who collaborate to enable and support the continuous improvement of international education. ACISC™ helps members access innovative international educational practices, gain recognition for accomplishments, attract and select high quality staff, facilitate student connections with leading universities around the world, and provide meaningful international educational experiences to prepare students as global citizens. ACISC™ provides staff with unique opportunities to impact the future of international education around the world while working in an international environment. One of the first steps any prospective student should take before enrolling in a college or university, is to verify whether or not the school is accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. ACISC™ is a national accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education.
The purpose of the ACISC™ Code of Ethics is to describe the moral principles upon which CIS members are expected to base their conduct and professional practice.
Higher education members also follow the Guiding Principles for Higher Education Institutions.
