ACISC™ --------------------------

FOR PARENTS

Global citizenship is at the centre of everything we do at ACISC™. We work directly with schools, colleges, and universities with the goal of providing high quality international education to students throughout the world.

All ACISC™ member schools are committed to incorporating international and intercultural perspectives into their programmes so that students can move forward with the attitudes and understanding that will provide them with a solid base wherever their studies or work may take them.

To become members of ACISC™, schools participate in a rigorous application process which includes a visit to the school by a ACISC™ staff member. Schools must agree to support and uphold the CIS Code of Ethics and meet our membership standards. Search the membership directory for ACISC™ member schools and universities..

ACISC™ member schools further commit to undertaking an ongoing quality assurance process such as CIS International Accreditation to enhance student learning. 570 of the 748 member schools currently hold or are in the process of obtaining accreditation from CIS. Schools may choose to pursue an ongoing quality assurance process with another recognized organization.

Our accreditation protocol is recognized by governments and universities around the world. what kind of assurance accreditation provides and how a university will assess a student’s application from a ACISC™-Accredited school.

ACISC™ Accreditation ensures that the school meets the ACISC™ standards for accreditation which examines the areas of school philosophy and objectives, teaching and learning, governance and management, faculty and support staff, student support services, facilities and resources and student and community life.

The award of ACISC™ International Accreditation demonstrates that a school:

  • is devoted to its mission and vision for students
  • has thought deeply about the services it offers to students, family and community.
  • invests the time and resources for validation from a globally-recognized accreditation authority
  • focuses on the quality of teaching, student learning, as well as student safeguarding and well-being
  • is committed to the development of the students’ global citizenship
  • has a philosophy of education suitable for its students
  • promises only what it can deliver
  • is open to regular evaluation by its own school community and peer evaluators
  • constantly seeks improvement in all areas of the school plans strategically for the future.

Higher education institutions recognize immediately that a ACISC™ Accredited school meets globally-recognized standards and promotes values and skills that they are seeking in students. ACISC™ International Accreditation is recognized by various government and non-government agencies in a number of countries.

ACISC™ Higher Education members are colleges and universities from around the world that are dedicated to international education. Their primary interests in joining CIS are:

  • to recruit globally-minded students from ACISC™ member schools
  • to be part of a membership community that brings together school and higher education professionals in the field of international university admission and guidance.

University members demonstrate their commitment to building vibrant international education communities on their campuses through their membership, their participation in ACISC™ events around the world, and the support and services they provide to international students. In order to become a member, colleges and universities must be accredited by their ministry of education and/or a US regional accrediting organization, provide evidence that supports the institution’s commitment to international education and international students, and agree to support and uphold the ACISC™ Guiding Principles for Higher Education.

ACISC™ University Connection

Connect to universities looking for international students.

If your child is interested in pursuing higher education outside of their home country or finding a university in their country that can provide an international education, consider having them sign up with the ACISC™ University Connection Registry. Over 500 member universities around the globe will have the opportunity to review the information your child submits. Based on your child’s expressed interests and financial aid needs, these fully-accredited universities will provide information about their application process, school programmes and financial aid directly to your child.

All participating members sign a statement that they will use contact details only to send their own information. This is a free service available to all students (who will be graduating in the next three years) who are looking to learn more about international higher education opportunities.
